What is the Predictive Index System?

The Predictive Index Methodology is a unique, in-house management tool that has been helping executives throughout the world develop their leaders and strengthen their organizations since 1955. PI® identifies workplace strengths and provides a clear picture of applicants and employees compared to the requirements of the job. This is an in-house tool and personality profile test for organizations where managers are trained to interpret, analyze and apply the results.

What is PI Midwest?

We are a Management Consulting and Organizational Development Business with clients in 38 states. In addition to The Predictive Index® Training, we offer training in Strategic Planning, Interviewing, Employee Selection Methods, Basic Manager Fundamentals and Selling Skills.

How do we help organizations?

Recruiting - Through the PI® training, managers learn how to define what is needed in the position and then develop ads specifically designed to attract those styles.

Hiring - Utilizing PI® as an employee selection method helps reduce costly turnover by looking at two issues; what it takes to do the job and what strengths and weakness the applicant has. By completing one of the System’s tools, the PRO, the managers define the job requirements. The applicants complete the second tool, the Assessment, which is similar to a personality profile test, provides information about their strengths, weaknesses, needs and motivations. The manager then compares the results of both tools to evaluate how closely the applicant matches the position; if they can be developed to fit, or if they do not match at all. Using employee selection methods that identify Finding the applicant who fits the job, (this person is not always the best interviewee) reduces turnover dramatically.

Team Building - PI® helps managers build better and more cohesive teams through the understanding of what strengths each member brings to the team.

Training Assessment - PI® provides a better understanding of each employee’s learning style so training can be tailored to meet each person’s specific needs.

Productivity - PI® arms managers with information about the way people work and how to maximize productivity by serving as a type of personality profile test. By applying this insight, managers are able to get the results the organization demands.

Leadership/Management - To be an effective leader it is essential that a clear vision is articulated and others are inspired. The Predictive Index® aids organizations in identifying and developing leaders, understanding and enhancing leadership styles and improving communication. Managers are better equipped with the insight they need to communicate with employees to get results.

Retention - PI® helps managers develop individual motivational strategies for each employee. The System also helps identify and address morale issues before a valuable employee leaves the company.

Promotion Assessment - The “Peter Principal” has continued to ring true over the years. Many people do rise or are promoted beyond their own level of competence, in layman’s terms, they “get in over their heads”. The Predictive Index® personality profile test can show you why someone who is the best at what they do, may not necessarily be the best at managing the same activity. Predictive Index® will help you identify the strengths and weaknesses of promotion candidates and hone your employee selection methods. It also helps executives recognize where they need to focus their management efforts.
